The VAGUS NERVE

🌬️🌿 What is the Vagus Nerve?

The vagus nerve is the  main channel of communication between the brain and the body especially the gutheartlungsthyroidreproductive organs, and immune system.

It runs from your brainstem through the face, throat, heart, lungs, and gut.

It determines whether we are in “rest & repair” (parasympathetic) mode or “survive & defend” (sympathetic) mode

When the vagus nerve is dysregulated, the body gets “stuck” in a chronic stress state — and cannot return to homeostasis.

When the vagus nerve is toned and active, you feel:

Calm and grounded

Emotionally resilient

Able to digest food and experiences

Regulated in your heart, breath, and hormones

When it’s underactive or dysregulated, you may experience:

Anxiety, panic, or emotional flooding

IBS or digestive issues

Irregular heart rate or poor sleep

Hormonal imbalance

Disconnection from self and others

What’s Causing Chronic Vagal Dysregulation in the Modern World?

📱 EMFs / constant device use

😵‍💫 Chronic low-grade stress

🧠 Information overload

🛏️ Poor sleep / overwork

💬 Lack of emotional expression

🏙️ Disconnection from nature

🍕 Processed food / gut dysbiosis

🚷 No time for slowness, or time to simply just “be”.

Hence why I tend to start your treatment with the gut and addressing the imbalance here. Additionally it is important to address held emotional stress which can take a bit longer, but Homeopathy & Flower Essences are an excellent support in this process.
